Message to all the Sri Vaishnavas

Adiyen wants the attention of all the Ramanuja Sambandhis and dasas of bhagwat Ramanuja towards an issue.

We all know that Nammalvar (Sri Sathakop Suri) predicted the advent of Ramanuja Swami in Thiruvaaimozhi (5.2). All the verses of the decade talks about ‘bhavisyat Acharya’ swami Ramanujacharya only. Nammalvar had himself installed the ‘archa vigrah’ of ‘Bhavisyat Acharya’ at his birth place.

Sri Nammazhwar predicted the avatara of Sri Ramanujar, (Not Sri Chaitanya Maha prabhu) To commemorate this event, special Thirumanjanam festival happens every year in February (Masi – Visakam star) in Thirukkurukoor (Swamy Nammazhwar’s Avatara sthalam).

  1. MISCHIEF:

ISKCON has released a book on Thiruvaaimozhi, written by Sridhar Srinivas Das; which claims that predictions in divine book is about CHAITANYA MAHAPRABHU, HIS ASSOCIATES AND PRABHUPAD. The motives of the writer to write commentary on Divya Prabandham and force his own meanings is questionable.

The author argues that Sri Manwala Mamunigal himself said in his AH vyakhyanam (part 2, churnika 91) that the prediction may mean Various Acharyas. However, there is nothing like that in the churnika he referred. It talks about the famous Verses of Srimad Bhagwatam (11th canto) which talks about the advent of Azhwars along the various rivers in South India.

 

Here I am giving word by word translation, check if is anyway close to his claims:

Sūtra 91

Tamiļ māmuņi tikku śaraņyam enravarkaļāle kvacittu enru,

ivar āvirbhāvam kaliyum kețum sūcitam

Śabdārtha or Verbal Translation

Tamiļ – Tamil Language, māmuni – great saint ie Sage Agastya, tikku – direction, śaraņyam – place of refuge, enravarkaļale – those, who are stating, kvacittu – for each and every body, enru – as such, ivar – āvirbhāvam — his incarnation, kaliyum – ills of kali yuga, kețum – shall and will be destroyed, pole – like sūcitam – a note (informed)

Translation –

Maharși puts forth that, Saint Agastya, who propagated the Tamil would be a place of refuge. It is indeed noteworthy that in every place, it nullified Kaliyuga.

In Ramanuja Avayay prabhaavam, all the azhwars and Acharyas are said to be in body of Ramanujacharya swami. Nammalvar being his head, Tirumangai Alwar being his feets, Lokacharya Swami being lines his feet etc.

The author has cunningly extended to mean ‘all the future Acharyas’ and thus comes to conclusion the the verses are prediction of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, his 5 associates and Prabhupad.

The book was launched by HH Jayaptaka Swami (incharge of India) and even have his forewords.

Despite our Acharyas warning him about the grave sin, he keeps on his agenda.

While they appear to glorify Bhagwat Ramanujacharya Swami, here is how they reveal their plans and instructs all the members of ISKCON:

Our proposition is to the Ramanujacarya followers because they are very, very strong, especially in South India they are prominent, purifying all of the world actually. It is mentioned in the Bhagavatam that when pure devotees appear in South India they then maintain the pure principles of bhakti. So there are many followers of Ramanujacarya. So our proposition to them is that now your worship of the Lord as Ramanujacarya. All his followers need to follow His latest incarnation. That was many hundreds of years ago that he appeared as Ramanujacarya. Now He has appeared in Navadvip in the lasts incarnation as Nityananda Prabhu. So you should all actually follow Nityananda Prabhu. And He taught all to chant: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. And worship Radha and Krishna. The proposition – evidence is there from sastra. Vedic evidence is there. So if you are living in South India then you can convert all the Ramanujas to become followers of Mahaprabhu. Even if they worship Laxmi Narayan they will go back to Godhead very quickly because of that by the mercy of Panca-Tattva. Ramanuja Mahasayi Ki Jai.

They boldly preach it with smartness. first approach senior devotees as if u r big follower of Ramanuj, form personal relationships with them. Then tell the young devotees, “Hey!! Your seniors agree to this.they appreciate”.

He goes on to say:

Devotees of Ramanuja Acarya all go back to Vaikuntha after a long time but here in Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s mission in Navadvip Dham Panca-Tattva … can be done in one lifetime. Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. Srila Prabhupada Ki Jai!

3. FAKE STORIES TO DEGRADE THE DIVINITY OF RAMANUJACHARYA AND UPLIFT THE DIVITY OF CHAITANYA AND PRABHUPAD:

 

They have cooked some filthy stories to help fulfilling their mission. As per them, Ramanuj was reborn in Navdwip and did upasana of Chaitnya Mahaprabhu.

And today they have also dared to put an e-book (“Mayapur is My Place of Worship”),
through their website for promoting their upcoming temple in Mayapur TOVP Temple Of Vedic Planetarium, Kolkatta. ( https://tovp.org/mayapur-is-my-place-of-worship-book/ ), which has a part of this story “Sri Jagannatha educating Yatiraja about Mayapur and also warning Bhagavad Ramanuja Swamy about its glory”.

“On the order of Sri Jagannatha , Vishwaksena took Bhagavad Ramanujacharya Swamy to Mayapur, where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared gave his darshanam and placed his foot on Yatiraja’s head by blessing him with Divine Knowledge”

It is authored by founder acharya of their sampradaya- Sri BhaktiVinod Thakur.

 

They boldly preach it in their lectures:

Bhaktivinode Thakur mentions in the Navadvip Dham Mahatmya that actually Jagannath spoke to him. He said, “Anyway leave things as they are. But you should go and visit Mayapura – very special abode, Navadvip – My very favoured abode. You should go there. Then he woke up in Navadvip that next day. Then Jagannath spoke to him and said, “This is My eternal abode that has descended by the influence of My inconceivable potency. There is no place of maya here. This is the spiritual realm here. Here I appeared in the form of Lord Gauranga. I am teaching pure devotional service.”

Ramanujacarya said, “I have heard this name of Gauranga. It is there in scripture but it is kind of secret. Now You are speaking about it I can understand where it is all coming from. There are so many statements in the sastra about Gauranga’s appearance but it is all kept secret. Now I can understand what all this means.”

Then the Lord appeared to him as his worshipable Lords Laxmi narayan. So he was in ecstasy. Then Lord Narayan – they disappeared and They became Gauranga. He saw this beautiful form as Lord Gauranga. He said, “This is that form.” So he said, “Now I understand what the sastras are saying. It happens in Kali Yuga. So now I am going to go out and preach pure unalloyed devotional service to Krishna in these different mellows of Vrindavan. Just order me, just order me, I am ready to go conquer.”

Lord Jagannath said, “No, no, no. When I come I will do that. For the time being you cultivate and preach up to dasya rasa. Within your heart you can worship Me as your lover but you preach up to dasya rasa. When I come then I will present this.” He said, “I must be here when you perform Your pastimes.” So the Lord gave him the benediction that he would be here. So he appeared as Sri Ananta in Gauranga’s pastimes.

The story goes on to say that, Ramanuja in his next birth as ananta in Mayapur, danced madly in his marriage ceremony. Thus, he elevated his devotion.

 

Can we digest such portrayal of jagadguru Ramanujacharya? Is it not the duty of all Ramanuja dasas to condemn these stories which are being spread to somehow brainwash and convert Sri vaishnavas? Their target is those Sri Vaishnavas who are not much familiar to sampradayam due to studies and staying outside in some engineering colleges.

 

4. Demeaning Narayan Ashtakshari Mahamantra:

Their another cunning tactics is to demean Narayan Mahamantra which is praized everywhere in Vedas and Dravida Vedas. As per them, the mantra is only for material benifits and not applicable in Kaliyuga. Only ‘Hare Krishna’ Mahamantra is the mantra for kaliyuga.

Fine, you chant your mantra but why are speaking nonsense about the mantra of an  established sampradayam? Ramanuja swami gave us this mantra. How can a sampradayam 200 years old can speak such nonsense about a sampradayam whose lineage goes back to 5000 years old?

    2. ISKCON is not even a bonafide संप्रदाय as it has its own concocted ‘achintya bheda(dvaita)-abheda(advaita) vAda’ & do not follow dvaita propounded by MadhvAchArya to which they claim to belong to appear as a legitimate & authorised sect.

      What kind of shishya ousts & supplants his Guru’ darshana with his own tunnel vision vAda? None but false disciples undermine & discard their own predecessors work.

      1. True, the traditional School Of Tattvavada in Bangalore, The Poornaprajna Samshodhan Mandira which is responsible for the promulgation of Dvaita Vedanta had clarified this that Iskcon is a Neo-Vedantic School and they are not at all a part of Sriman Madhvacarya’ Tattvavada.
        The Navadvip Mahatmya demeans the status of all Acaryas like Sri Ramanuja , Sri Anandatirtha, Sri Vishnuswami and Sri Nimbarkacarya.They have gone extra mile denigrating other Acaryas.Even after ahowing they are such adamant that they don’t even feel shame.Due to all this, I have developed a great loathsome for Iskcon😡.

    This is not first of such attempts by some of the ISKON followers. With due respects to their efforts to propagate dharma, they have gone an extra mile to degrade authentic other scriptures.
    I do not know what to say about them but they are like this. They twist and turn the authenticity of vedas and ithihasas. They have been doing it. They must realize to protect dharma they should respect vedas, which is the ultimate treasure of knowledge.
    Also, they have to understand, they are just an offshoot of Bhagavath Ramanuja Sri Sampradaya.

      We have complained even to GBC, secretary of Jaypataka swami; they all assured action but nothing happened.

      Today is the 1000th appearance anniversary  of Sripad Ramanujacarya, the acharya of Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya. Sripad Ramanujacarya has also visited Navadvipa dhama & performed his bhajan at Vaikuntapur.

      Navadvipa dham Mahatmya narrates Ramanujacarya’s arrival to Navadvipa as follows:

      A great acarya once came to Puri and pleased the Lord with his verses. Jagannatha appeared before him and said, “go and see Navadvipa Dhama, for soon I shall appear there in the house of Jagannatha Misra. Navadvipa is My very dear Dhama, situated in one place in the spiritual sky. As My eternal servant and a leading devotee, you should see Navadvipa. Let your students, who are absorbed in dasya rasa, stay here, and you go alone. Any living being who does not see Navadvipa has been born uselessly. Just one portion of Navadvipa contains Ranga, Venkata, and Yadava Acala. Therefore go to Navadvipa and see the form of Gauranga. You have come to the earth to preach bhakti, so let that birth be successful with the mercy of Gaura. From Navadvipa, go to Kurma Sthana, and there join again with your disciples.”

      Joining his hands, Ramanuja made a request to Jagannatha. “You have mercifully mentioned Gauranga, but exactly who He is I do not know.” The Lord answered, “Everyone knows the master of Goloka, Krishna,. That Krishna, whose vilasa murti is Narayana, is the supreme truth, residing in Vrndavana. That Krishna is fully manifested in the form of Gauranga, and Navadvipa Dhama is the same as Vrndavana. This Navadvipa is the topmost abode, situated beyond the material universe, and in that place Gauranga stays eternally. By My mercy that Dhama has come to exist within Bhu Mandala, yet remaining unaffected by maya. This is the verdict of scripture. And if you think that Navadvipa  is only a material location, then your devotion will perish. By My will, My inconceivable energy preserves this full transcendental dhama within the material world. Simply by reading scriptures one will not get the highest truth, for the highest truth surpasses all reasoning power. Only the devotees, by My mercy, can understand.” Hearing the, Ramanuja was moved with prema. “Lord, you lila is truly astounding. The scriptures cannot know your opulence. Why is not Gauranga lila described clearly in the scriptures? When I closely examine the sruti and puranas, I find some hint of the Gauranga Tattva only. Now, however, I am ready to serve your order for all doubts are gone. If it is your desire, I will go to Navadvipa and preach Gaura lila throughout the three worlds, giving evidence from the hidden scriptures to all the people, converting all to devotional service to Gauranga. Please instruct me.” Jagannatha said, “Ramanuja, do not broadcast lie this. Keep the esoteric Gaura lila secret. Only after He has finished His lila will the general public receive it. Preach for Me on the level of dasya rasa, while in your heart worship Gauranga constantly.”

      Taking the advice of the Lord, Ramanuja secretly cultured his attraction for Navadvipa. Narayana, being merciful, led Ramanuja to Vaikuntha Pur, and there showed him his transcendental form served by Sri, Bhu and Nila. Ramanuja thought himself fortunate to obtain this darshan, but instantly the figure changed to that of Gaurasundara, the son of Jagannatha Misra, Ramanuja swooned at the brilliance of the form. Gauranga put His lotus feet on his head. Ramanuja, divinely inspired, recited prayers of praise. “I must see Gaura’s actual lila on earth. I can never leave Navadvipa!” Gauranga said, “Your wish will be fulfilled, son of Kesava. When the Nadiya lila  will be revealed in the future, you will take birth here again.” Gauranga disappeared. Ramanuja, contented, resumed his journey. After some days he arrived at Kurma Sthana and with his disciples saw the place. During his life he preached dasya rasa throughout the south of India, while internally he was absorbed in Gaura lila.. By Gauranga’s mercy, he was later born in Navadvipa as the devotee Ananta.

  4. This is the reason why I left Iskcon. As perfect as they seem to portray themselves, they aren’t. Gaudiya Vaishnavism they display is nothing like what it was before.

    One should accept nothing written Bhaktivinoda Thakurji. How can he undermine our Ramanuja by writing imaginary stories? Not only Ramanujacharya. Adi Shankara, Madhvacharya, Nimbarka(if not mistaken) have been victims of such cheap writings. Simply to establish supremacy of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, they have speaken lowly of the other great acharyas. These are books used by the general Iskcon followers to establish supremacy. They quote BVT’s statements to tell people that GV under Iskcon and Gaudiya Math is the right form of bhakti tradition.

    Although guilt of leaving Iskcon as Prabhupad’s Gita was what introduced me to Krishna worship, guilt of following wrong ideas and intentions they have pushed me to leave it.

    Charity aside, Iskcon is not the proper form of Gaudiya Vaishnavism and therefore not authentic as they claim to be.

Really I am astounded by such embarrassing concocted stories by a International Organisation which I was a stauchly following it.I don’t why they are doing it and May Sri MahaVishnu saves all of us.Also, I have listen a statement from their Acaryas also “In Kaliyuga Every Sampradaya will come under the flag Bearing of Sriman Mahaprabhu.”They have also made false stories on other Acaryas like Sriman Anandatirtha,Sri Vallabhacarya, Sri Nimbarkacarya.I met a brahmacari of Vallabhacarya of Puri who accused of false stories on their Acarya by scurrilous claims.Also, thry say Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is Lord Krishna although Lord Narayana is Tri-Yugi.They also say that Lord Krishna is superior to Lord Narayana.

    1. Nammalwar mentions, ..திவத்திலும்பசுநிரை மேய்ப்புவத்தி… Meaning even in Dhulok(Srivaikuntam), lord Narayan preferred to be a cowherd.
      These are all Anubavas of Azvar and should not be taken as His swaroop.
      Ramanuja sishyas enjoy this as an experience (anubavam) where as Iskon followers takes it literally. That’s all
      This kind of yojana bedas you will find in plenty between followers of Swamy Desikan & Pillailokachariyar also. Then it becomes fight as Vadagala& Thenkalai.

      2. It’s not good to give a loose comment like this on the mahaan acharyas. FYI, Swami Manwala Mamunigal quotes Vedaant Desikan extensively in his works, calling him Abhyuktar. For example, while explaining that kartritvam belongs to Ishwar, Swami Mamunigal quotes continuous paragraphs by paragraphs, word by word, from the works of Vedanta Desikan.

        Yatindra Mata Deepika is written by a great Thenkalai acharya. Just have a glance at the mangal shloka:
        yatishwar pranmyaaham vedaantaaryam Maahagurum|
        karomi baalabodhaartham, Yatindra mata deepikaam ||

        Here, Acharya pays pranams to Acharya Vedanta Desikan. Be PB Anna swami or Doddacharya Mahacharya swami, they all have quoted Swami Desikan’s words in their commentaries. Doddacharya Swami has written extensive commentaries on the works of swami Desikan.

        It’s important to understand that there is yojana-bheda in the family of Ramanuja but no hridaya-bheda. Doing apacharams against swami Desikan would displease swami Manwala mamunigal for sure.
